Seattle WA Transport

Seattle Transport - Seattle has a good transport system especially in the centre of the city which makes it unnecessary to drive. Here is some info on the options available.

It’s not really a necessity to drive about Seattle when you come for a visit. If you are not familiar with the many one-way streets and traffic, you will certainly become more frustrated than it’s worth. You can rent a car, if you wish to see the Eastside or venture to the outskirts of the city. Taxi service is an available mode of transportation throughout King County, as well as the downtown area. As the night winds down, it is suggested to call rather than wait outside for one to pass by. A few cab companies to keep in mind are: Yellow Cab (206-213-0015) and Greytop Cab (206-282-8222).

If driving and riding a cab isn’t the way you’d like to go, you could also hop a bus from one destination to the next. Bus Fare is $1 for adults and $1.25 during rush hours. For more information call 206-553-3000.

Another way to get around the city is by the clean and quick Monorail which links the Seattle Center and Westlake Mall. The monorail is open from 10am to midnight and leaves every 15 minutes with a great price of 2 quarters.

If you’d like more information on how to get about the city, contact the Seattle-King County Visitors Bureau, located on Eighth Avenue and Pike Street, for maps and information. They can be reached by calling 206-461-5840 and even have a website: http://www.seeseattle.org.

For transport from the airport contact Gray Line for Gray Line Airport Express (206-626-6088) or for fun go for a limousine transfer.
